So as our Friday post, and the last post from WiSTEM of IWW 2016 we want to post about someone very special from right here in our own University. So woman of IWW ’16 is…..
Sheila Rowan, Director of the Institute for Gravitational Research, where she leads a group of around 50 researchers developing detectors and signal analysis methods to search for gravitational waves from astrophysical sources. It was these detections that you’ve probably heard about in the news recently, and hence Prof Rowan is very busy at the minute. A short video explaining why the research she leads is so ground breaking and incredible can be found here!
Thank you Sheila for being a modern day inspirational Woman in STEM!
Happy IWW everyone, remember to tweet us your favourite Women in STEM @wistemglasgow
